Prayer for October 14, 2014

Dear God, I lift up my Mom today as she shuffles back to her room, slower and slower each day I see her. Thank you God, for each day that I visit and she knows my name. Please let her know, in her foggy state of dementia that I will not fail to stand beside her. I will love her until her life is gone. She knows you, Lord, and I know she will be going to a better place. But for now, let me let her be the way she is now, not how I remember her to be. Let me kiss her cheek and hold her hand with peace and good will towards her. I trust in you, my savior, that you have plans for her and me and that we will finish well. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
